Ira Sutherland has always loved nature. He hiked deep into the forests, climbed mountains in BC, biked around Canada, expanding his sense of place as a resident of planet Earth. Now, he is back at UBC Faculty of Forestry to undertake his PhD with the aim to quantify the historical dynamics in the structure and function of forests across BC.
